It’s 9:47 p.m. The exam is tomorrow. You’ve studied — actually studied. And your brain is showing you a film in which you forget everything, fail everything, and disappoint everyone you love.

You are not the first person to sit in that chair.

Five thousand years ago, a warrior sat down in the middle of a battlefield he’d trained his whole life for — and froze. Bow down. Hands shaking. Certain he was about to lose everything and everyone. His name was Arjuna. And sitting right next to him, holding the reins of his chariot, was a friend who didn’t tell him to calm down or think positive.

The friend asked him a better question.

Six Saturdays is where we sit with that question — the one the whole Bhagavad-gītā is built around — and find out what it has to do with a 9:47 p.m. that belongs to you.

🪔 What this actually is

This is not a lecture. Nobody is going to talk at you for 45 minutes.

Each Saturday, you’ll have read one short chapter of The Friend in the Chariot beforehand — ten minutes, tops. Then we get on a live call and talk about it. Your questions. Your exam nights. Your version of the film your brain plays at 9:47.

  • 🗓️ Six live sessions, one every Saturday
  • 7:00–7:45 pm IST — done before dinner
  • 💻 Online, from wherever you are
  • 👥 Capped at 25 — small enough to speak
  • 📖 One chapter read before each session
  • 💬 Discussion-led — you talk more than we do
  • 🆓 Voluntary Contribution

🎯 Who it’s for

Readers aged 11 to 21 who’ve ever:

  • lain awake the night before something that mattered
  • felt like they were carrying a result they couldn’t control
  • wondered whether trying your best is even a real thing
  • suspected the Gita might have something to say to them — not just to grown-ups in a temple

You don’t need to have read the book already. You don’t need to know Sanskrit. You don’t need to be “good at religion.” You just need to show up with your own 9:47.

🛤️ How the six Saturdays run

  1. Read the week’s chapter beforehand (10 minutes)
  2. Show up live on Saturday at 7:00 pm
  3. Talk — we open with a real situation, not a summary
  4. Leave with one thing to actually try before next Saturday

We move through the story the way Arjuna moved through his — from the panic, to the friend who steadies him, to the road out. By the sixth Saturday, the question you walked in with looks different. That’s the whole point.

✋ A few honest answers

Is it really free?

Yes. The book is free online, and so is this. However we run on Voluntary contributions - so give what you can. What it really costs you is commitment — you’re signing up for all six, not dropping in when convenient. The room only works when the same faces come back.

My child is outside the 11–21 age range. Can they join?

Please wait for the next cohort — we’ll run age-appropriate bands. The room only works when it’s tight.

Is it recorded?

Sessions are recorded for teacher-training purposes only. They are never published, and no child’s name or image is used publicly without a parent’s written permission.

What do we need?

A device, an internet connection, and Chapter 1 read before the 15th. That’s it.

Seats are limited to 25

Because you can’t have a real conversation with a hundred people.

When the 25 seats are gone, they’re gone until the next cohort.

After you sign up, you’ll see this:

You’re in. Seat confirmed for Saturday, 15 August, 7:00 pm.

Three things now:

  1. Read Chapter 1. Ten minutes. Before the 15th.
  2. Join the parents’ group. All reminders and the joining link come from there.
  3. Bring your own 9:47 p.m. We’ll be talking about yours, not the book’s.
